
Coaching objective
Players recognize when one side is blocked and switch quickly to attack the opposite target.
Setup
- Create two small gates on each end line.
- Teams attack the two gates opposite them.
- Keep spare balls around the field for fast restarts.
Rules and scoring
- Score by passing or dribbling through either gate.
- A team cannot score in the same gate twice in a row.
- Play three- to five-minute games.
Coaching cues
- Look away from pressure.
- Make the field big in possession.
- Protect the middle when defending.
Progress the drill
- Award two points for switching before scoring.
- Add neutral wide players.
- Limit touches in the central zone.
Simplify the drill
- Increase field width.
- Allow repeated scoring in the same gate.
- Use a neutral player for the team in possession.

- Number of switches before scoring.
